Dallas 2K: A Natural History Study of Depression

This is a registered study tracked in the Sterling IMRES research watch. It is sponsored by University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and run by the investigators named in the registry, not by Sterling IMRES. Details come from ClinicalTrials.gov, last updated 15 September 2026.

Summary

Dallas 2K is a long-term observational cohort at UT Southwestern that follows people with elevated depressive symptoms. Participants contribute clinical, lifestyle, blood, genetic, neuroimaging and EEG data so researchers can look for markers linked to recovery. Follow-up is planned to continue into the 2030s.

Objectives

  • Identify and validate biological signatures that predict treatment response and outcomes in depression.
  • Follow changes in depression severity over time using questionnaires, blood biomarkers, genomics, brain imaging and EEG.

Prediction of Stroke-associated Pneumonia

Charite University, Berlin, Germany

This prospective observational cohort, led by Charité Berlin with sites in Germany and Spain, followed patients after acute ischaemic stroke. It combined clinical information with measurements of immune function and inflammation to see who goes on to develop pneumonia. Several papers on prediction scores and biomarkers such as IL-6 have come from the cohort.
